John Stuetz isn't teaching project management from a textbook—he's practicing it every day. As PMO Director at the largest organization of its kind in the U.S. Mid-Atlantic region, John currently leads complex cross-functional projects and project teams across multiple states, bringing active, senior-level PM experience directly into every lesson.
John is an established project management expert with over a decade of hands-on experience in the IT industry. His background spans large-scale IT implementations, complex software development, and strategic technology rollouts across diverse business sectors. John’s understanding of managing multi-disciplinary teams and his pursuit of process efficiencies have consistently driven successful outcomes, establishing him as a leader and mentor in the field.
John is also the Co-Founder of Laythio, a strategic consultancy born from the belief that bold strategies fail when execution "loses the plot." At Laythio, John oversees a training service line designed to transform technical talent into business leaders. By translating complex organizational processes into repeatable, learnable frameworks, Laythio ensures that project initiatives remain anchored to a core narrative—ensuring every milestone and deliverable reinforces the mission that sets an organization apart.
As the architect of this PMP® prep course, John brings Laythio’s philosophy of institutional understanding to the classroom. He is deeply committed to helping aspiring PMP® candidates articulate project value in business terms rather than technical jargon. By sharing insights gleaned from his career and his work at Laythio, John equips students with the tools, techniques, and confidence necessary to navigate the challenges of IT project management with expertise and navigate the PMP® exam with assurance.
John holds an M.Ed. from Arcadia University, is a Lindback Award-winning teacher, and is ESL/TEFL certified—ensuring this course is accessible and effective for learners from all backgrounds, including international students and career changers.
